You may have previously seen the amazing, award-winning mosaic artwork we shared from our NES student recently. We were honored this Thursday to be able to recognize the art teacher who inspired the work as our 2024 SVRTC Technology Teacher. This award is earned by an educator who exhibits a passion for technology integration and innovative learning. Mrs. Bell was awarded this title alongside other educators from across the state at a ceremony and luncheon at Longwood University. If you've walked the halls of North Elementary School, you've seen the beautiful pixel creations and vector art she brings out of her students by integrating both traditional art and technology skills. From programming robots to draw pictures to teaching her students how to use graphics tablets to draw via their Chromebooks, she's always searching for ways to marry art with future-ready skills! Congrats, Mrs. Bell!

Students wearing reindeer antler headbands gather around a candy cane themed door.
Ms. Johnson and her class stand outside her door decorated with snowflakes made by students. The door reads "We are as unique as snowflakes."
Mrs. Ridpath stands outside her door with her winner certificate. Her door is decorated with recycled lids in various colors, and the door reads "Have yourself a merry little Christmas" but the word Little is spelled L I D T L E.
