Our second annual Admin Social was so much fun! We always enjoy meeting our new Colonials, seeing our rising 7th and 8th graders, as well as getting to spend time with members of our school family!
CHMS Families, we have been given the all clear to proceed with our CHMS Admin Social event from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Please enter through the main entrance and proceed to the media center. We hope to see you there!
This is just a reminder to please submit proof of your student's TDap and Meningitis vaccine to the CHMS nurse before school starts. Students are required to provide updated immunization records in order to start school on August 19th. For those who still need to be immunized, the health department will host an immunization clinic for rising 7th grade students in our CHMS media center during open house on August 15th from 3-6 pm for the TDap, Meningococcal and the recommended HPV vaccine. Please bring a copy of your insurance card, if applicable. Proof of insurance will not be required to receive immunizations. All children under 18 must be accompanied by someone 18 years or older. If you have any questions, please call the CHMS clinic.
You are invited to join us for light refreshments at our CHMS social on August 8th, from 4-6 in the media center. This is an informal way to meet and chat with your administrators, counselors, and a few other members of the CHMS community, before orientation and open house the following week. We look forward to seeing you there!
If you live in an apartment complex in CHPS, join us for CHPS on the Road! On August 1st and 2nd, CHPS staff will be venturing out around the city to help you prepare for the school year. See the Facebook events and look out for a dialer call for more details.
A special thanks to Primary Health Group Appomattox for their donation of school supplies! We are excited to share these supplies with our students and staff in preparation of the 2024-2025 school year!

Congratulations to the CHMS 7th/8th Concert Band for earning 1st Place in their division this past weekend at the Kings Dominion Festival. In addition, they had the highest score of all Concerts Bands in any division and earned Grand Champion!

Our rising 6th grade Colonials came to visit CHMS today for the first time! A special thanks to our amazing students, staff, and counseling team for making this exciting day happen. We are so excited to welcome the Class of 2031 to the middle school next year!
Next week (4/15-4/19), in conjunction with the high school, CHMS will be participating in an Anti-Vaping Spirit Week. Please join us in dressing up in support of being vape-free!
