Character Development Programs
Honor RollStudents earning all A's or all A's and B's with no U's are recognized as Honor Roll Students per the nine weeks, per the semester and per the year. Their names are displayed at school and published in the Progress-Index Newspaper. Honor roll students for the year are also recognized at the end of the year awards assembly.
Noticed Being NiceStudents 'caught' doing something nice for others are awarded with a special pencil and treated to an ice cream at lunch one day. Their name and good deed is announced during morning announcements. They also receive a certificate which is posted in the main hall. The certificate is given to them at the end of the week.
Student of the WeekEach student is recognized as the "Student of the Week". The student's name is announced during morning announcements. They are given a special pencil and treated to ice cream at lunch one day. A certificate is prepared for each student of the week and posted in the main hall. The students receive their certificates at the end of the week.
Terrific KidsEach month, one student from each classroom is honored by their teacher as being a Terrific Kid. The Kiwanis Club visits each classroom and announces the name of the Terrific Kid. They read information from the teacher explaining why he/she is a Terrific Kid and they are given
a "Goody Bag".
