North Elementary School is a fully accredited school serving grades K - 5,
and approximately 300 students.

School begins for students at 8:25am and ends at 3:05pm. Students are asked to arrive at the school no earlier than 8:00am. General office hours are 7:30 - 3:30 while school is in session.
Kindergarten: 10:50 - 11:24
First Grade: 11:01 - 11:35
Second Grade: 11:12 - 11:47
Third Grade: 11:40- 12:16
Fourth Grade: 11:50 - 12:28
Fifth Grade: 12:10 - 12:48
North Elementary opened on September 8, 1959, to 280 students in grades 1 - 4. The staff consisted of eight teachers. North was rezoned in 1975 with the opening of Tussing Elementary and again in 1983 with the closing of Flora M. Hill School.
Today, North Elementary serves approximately 300 students in grades K - 5. North has 35 staff members and a number of part-time and itinerant personnel. North Elementary has been fully accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools since 1976.
The North Elementary Parent Teacher Organization generally meets the second Thursday in September, November, December, March, April and May. The P.T.O. has worked cooperatively with North Elementary School on projects designed to support the teaching staff in its efforts toward instructional excellence. They sponsor the annual North Field Day, Scholastic Book Fairs, and the Secret Santa Shop. They have purchased basketball goals for the gym, a digital camera, playground equipment, printers for each teacher and many other items.

- Comprehensive Physical Examination
- Immunization Record-certified board a licensed physician including blood work and urinary analysis
- Deed or Rental agreement
The Student Cooperative Association is made up of students in grades 2 through 5. The S.C.A. sponsors school Spirit Days and sells holiday grams as a fund raiser.
North's Safety Patrol is made up of fifth grade students who applied to be safety patrol members and who were recommended by their teachers. These students are on duty in the halls in the mornings and afternoons and assist in promoting a safe environment in our school. They also raise and lower the flag outside our school.
